Take one of Charlotte’s most historic churches and add the Queen City’s newest downtown park and you have one amazing night in Uptown. Christine and Jonathan, along with their family and friends, turned this unique blend of old and new into one memorable night.

First off, St. Peter’s Catholic Church is stunning. It’s situated nicely in the midst of Charlotte’s high rises and you get a sense of its storied 164-year history as soon as you walk in the door. Christine and Jonathan’s Catholic ceremony was full of beautiful music and emotional moments, as their family and friends in the assembly raised the arms and bestowed their blessings on the couple.

A few blocks away, a party in the park was about to get started at Romare-Beardon Park. The newly married couple arrived via horse-drawn carriage and showed off some newly-learned dance skills during their first dance. The Herringbones provided the evening’s music as both families spent the evening dancing with the city lights all around them. It’s easy to get caught up in all the details that go along with a wedding, but when it comes down to it, the day is simply two families coming together to celebrate joy and love.

A big thanks goes out to Miczek Weddings for second shooting this wedding with me. It’s always a pleasure to work alongside a good friend and extremely talented photographer.
